Petri Sillanpää MD, PhD, is chief surgeon, head of the Pihlajalinna Koskisairaala Hospital in Tampere, Finland. He is an expert in knee and orthopedic sports medicine, especially patellofemoral joint and pediatric knee disorders. His academic dissertation took place in Tampere University in 2009, titled: ”Traumatic Patellar Dislocation and Clinical Significance of Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Injury”.

Petri is current president of Finnish Knee & Arthroscopy Association. He is a co-chairman of ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy) Patellofemoral Instability Committee. Petri was selected for ISAKOS (International Society or Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine) patellofemoral traveling fellowship in 2010, and visited many high-level centers in USA. He was also selected for ESSKA-APOSSM travelling fellowship in 2012.
